This week’s podcast really had me wresting with the parable of the Weeds and the Wheat, and why in the world there are enslaved people in the kingdom of heaven.  And yes, I have been fighting with Jesus about it.  And with myself, and end up making some confessions about it all.

So ironically,
My resistance lesson this week is to examine my own resistance.
My own resistance to sitting with the reality of enslavement
In the Roman empire
And how it infects our sacred text.

To exploring how the casual acceptance
Of enslavement as a legitimate social order
In the gospels
Says something about my resistance
To exploring how enslavement as a legitimate social order
Still impacts us today.
